Cuttack boy Priansh Das and Bhubaneswar girl Anjali Mishra tasted the first sporting success of their life by bagging the open and girls titles respectively in the Odisha State Under-7 Chess Championship, which concluded here at Srusti Academy of Management today.
Ansuman Samal (Cuttack) and Smaraki Mohanty pocketed titles in open and girls categories of the State Under-17 Championship, which was held simultaneously at the same venue.
Six-year-old Priansh was obviously happy for his title triumph. But at the same time he was a bit sad too. That is because he lifted the trophy despite losing to his twin brother Sriansh, who finished third in the seven-round competition.
